Let your Dinosaur out!

Hello and I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Here in the UK we are having a HOT one (about time too I can here a few say) so I thought I'd share this quick little card with you all if you're sitting in the shade and catching up on your reading.  At the moment I am making cards to sell to fund raise so I was pleased to be able to put this card together quickly and it looks effective too.

This card is made from images and papers found on Polkadoodles Sticks and bones collection. With a couple of mushrooms from the lily-bug-love-embellies-bundle.

I started out with a blank white card at 15 x 15 cm. I then chose my next paper from the collection and cut that out to 14 cm sq and inked the edge in brown and added it to the card blank.

I then used my photo editing app and took my next paper choice sizing that to 12x12 cm and on top of that I added my next choice at 10x10 cm.

Then I chose my pre-coloured dinosaur and placed him down and then I took 3 styles of leaves from the embellishments kit and re-sized them making one like a tree and put them over to the left. I added the quote and then printed it off.
Again I inked the edge and ran a black fine marker between the 2 papers. Before I printed off the page I copied and pasted 2 mushrooms and 2 more dinosaurs which I fussy cut out and added to the image for some interest.
As you can see I removed the back legs on the first layer and then just kept the head on the second.
Buy adding these couple of things on top of the image it takes it away from being totally flat.

You can do so much with the kits or just individual items from Nikky . Everything works so well together.
Hope you have enjoyed looking at this and maybe you would leave a word or two.
Have a good one,

Sue

Celebrate the Season

Hello there!

Just wanted to share this little Christmas card that I have made today using an adorable pre-coloured topper from my stash. This is at least 4 years old to me and the last one left.  I am trying my best to use up stuff (I'm sure one or two of you can say the same lol) I trimmed it by using my stitched square die.

I've made a bright white 6x6 tent fold and stamped one of my favourite Christmas stamps all over and then coloured in with my Copic's.  The stamp is old too and by Denami Designs.

I am following the sketch over at sketchsaturday.   So you can see my image has been added to two other papers before being stuck down in place.

I added ric-arc from my stash and made a bow out of green & white bakers twine. I added two snow flakes to the side of the image to go along with my sentiment. The sentiment and the tiny Let it Snow phrase came from a set of stamps by JustRite called Snowflakes.

I hope you like what you see and can leave a word or two.

Magnolia blossom

Hello and a Happy Saturday to you all,

Just thought I'd pop on and share a little card I have made for a sweet friend of mine.

I started with a 6x6 bright white card blank and then took a Dutch Doobadoo  shape-art  in a blossom type style and cut around it.  I inked the edges with Spun Sugar, then I added this sweet paper from Paper Boutique  and then I cut the next size down in a coordinating paper and inked in black  to make it pop!
The ribbon/lace I have had in my stash for such a long time and decided to add a touch of that.
I made a frame and inked that also in spun sugar and added some flower centres from two different stamp sets by Verve Stamps, I matted  that on to some pink dotty paper and added to the card using foam pads. The Happy Birthday is from Verve Stamps too and that I cut out using one of the blossom tips as a guide.
I then went about searching for flowers but in the end I made my own up using some petals I had left from other projects and added stamens to the centres.
The sweet Magnolia image I picked up at a second hand sale and I'm afraid I don't know her name yet! I coloured her in using my Promarkers and then fussy cut her out and adding her with foam pads. The final touch was to add some teeny tiny clear gems about the card.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you will be able to leave a word or two as I always enjoy reading them.

Splash of Summer

Hi,
Just wanted to share a few cards I have made using the Paper Collection called Splash of Summer which I purchased from Polkadoodles. It may be sold out now but other kits are available.

This first one is made up from one large 5x7 image then I have added several other snippets from other toppers.

This card is a 5x5 and I have first added stamped images from the honey-daisy-clear-stamp-set then I have added a topper along with another couple of fussy cut images from other toppers.

This is a little 4x4 card which also uses the stamps as above but also a quote from winnie-special-moments-Quotes and fussy cut flowers from a topper. I've also used a fanciful-circles die to cut out the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today,

I will be sharing in the following challenges.

Native American Headdress

Hello,
I'd like to share a new card I have made using the new sketch for mojo-Monday . I have to add that I have altered it a little to suit my needs but I think you can see it in there.

I used this Native American head stamp which I've had in my stash for quite a few years now along with the feathers off the dreamcatcher stamp and the little sun type image.

The papers are from Kaisercraft and you can buy those here  merlyimpressions . I made the card in to a 6x6 tent fold and matted the first 2 papers. Then I took a piece of latte coloured card and stamped with Versamark the sun setting image as well as removing the corners and faux stitching the edge.

The head I stamped and coloured in with ProMarker pens and Copic's. I then proceeded to fussy cut behind the feathers to allow me to feed the die under and so cut out to the right of the face. The  sketch has a banner coming down but I changed it out for the feathers, the head was then added using foam pads to lift it. I stamped and cut out the sentiment placing it off to the bottom right.

Thanks for stopping buy today, I hope you can find time to share your thoughts on my make.

Buckets of Wishes

Hello There,

Tuesday means it's time to start a new challenge over at digichoosday. This week we have been given our own challenge to follow:

 Theme of sea/beach/ocean
1. Any image
2. Must have an aperture/hole with something behind it.
3. Use a colour palette (we had 2 to choose from)

So I came up with this combo, the paper is from distress-ink-papers-plain the hole is made up from a embellishment from winnie-wonderland-embellies-1-2 the sentiment and palm tree is from Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles Big Bundle

Then this cute image bearing-gifts-dinosaur-digi  I have coloured him in using my ProMarker pens but his friends were pre-coloured. I thought he was perfect to go with the sentiment or visa versa.
Here is a closer look as you can see I raised one with Pinflare glue

Nikky's images are perfect to make up your own picture story. I hope you can join in with us this week.

Here is another card I made following the rules above but this time the aperture has the sentiment popping out. I have merged 3 images from winnie-fruit-punch-embellies-bundle after resizing them. The papers are from distress-ink-papers-plain but I was running out of blue ink and so I get a 'ticking' stripe going on in the blue which I thought looked like deckchair fabric and so suited my beach feel.

I added glitter glue to give the idea of sand and a few dotty hearts to match the cute cherries which I added Glossy Accents to.

You Rock!

Hi, today I'd like to share a card I recently made for a young man.

I don't know about you but I always worry when asked to make one because they can be difficult can't they??

This card came together quite quickly as I had a sheet of paper with these really useful images on and most had little if no face on which meant  they could fit any guy within reason.
I also had a sheet of coordinating paper with sneakers on and to that I added papers from my stash inking all the edges as I went along. I added a few stars and a Tim Holtz swirly circle behind the image for interest.
As it goes I was quite pleased with the end result.

Kiosk Colin!

Hi and a Happy Tuesday!

Time to share my card for this weeks digichoosday challenge which starts today. As ever we are a anything goes challenge but Nikky has set us the design team a challenge to follow.
1. Food
2. Not a Birthday Cake
3. Include an aperture

So here is what I have come up with.

It is a large A5 card which I have covered the front with a paper from papers-8 from the amazing Winnie-Starfish/Sandcastles range of images the image is winnie-beach-kiosk which I have coloured in with my Promarkers and other pens.
As you can see I have removed the centre of the image to make a aperture which I have covered with some acetate as if a window. I have cut right through the card. I have fussy cut a few items and added them for dimension. The sentiment is from the kit too.

Thanks for popping by today, I do hope you can join in with us.
