# 187 The Olympics are Coming

Hi,
DT sister Sarah has asked us to make a card or project which includes a sport which is in the summer Olympics.

I figured a lot of people would do the main event so I came up with the para-Olympics as my theme. This is a 6x6 navy card base with a postal paper flat on it. It shows the Queen on the stamp and I have used a few other British items on the card such as the brad and the gems in red, white and blue.

Come on and join in and show your colours for your sport or your country. Pop on over to the other girls blogs to see what they have made, sure to be a stunner or two there to get your ideas flowing.

Thanks for stopping by today.

#2 July Diva Inspiration Card.

Hi,
I just had to share this cute card I made today. I used a new die set I bought a couple of weeks back (stiched circles) to make my card base which is bright white. I'm just loving the colours in the july-diva-inspiration photo so I thought I'd make another.

I matted on to that this lovely large dot paper in a olive green colour. To that I added a orange shaped mat with a gold/yellow gingham on top. The sentiment is from my new Verve stamp set as are the flowers which I cut out using the new open dies Verve have brought out. I cut sprightly sprigs out, Amazing is a new die too the sequins are from Verves Christmas holiday set.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a word or two as it's nice to see who's stopped by.

# 186 Just Chillin

Hello,
It's time for another challenge over at myshericrafts . This time it is Glenda's turn to choose and because it's coming in to school holidays over here in the UK it seems a perfect one. "Just Chillin" which means you must include ice-cream on your project.

Here is my take on the theme.

This is a 6x6 pink base tent fold card for a change.
I've used a new to me Bestie image which is so cute. I love this bright stripe paper which I mounted on to white first before putting it down on the card. Then I took 2 dotty papers and put them down at jaunty angles but not before running the green through a dotty embossing folder.
The image I coloured in with my ProMarkers, I added glitter to some of the ice-cream and Glossy Accents to the cherries and strawberry.
The image is mounted on to burnt orange which is similar to the spoon colour. The sentiment is a new stamp set from Verve called simply amazing. There are some Fab sentiments on this set along with lovely daisy's with there own dies too. The special has been lifted off the white with foam pads and it is stamped on to a cut off from the card blank just to pull it all together.
I decided to add a few buttons in the ice-cream colours just to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a few words so I know you have been for a closer look.

I will be entering this card in other challenges too.

A Little Christmas in July!

Hi,
I thought I'd share with you 2 cute Christmas card I've made.
The images are off a topper set I picked up in the sale a long time back, I can't remember who they are by sorry but they all do seem to be having some fun lol.

Again the cards are easel style (seem to be having a moment of it right now!!) The images came with the golden flourishes so I carried on with the flourish embossing folder. I sponged on some redbrick ink to tie them all together with the paper covering the base and ribbon used.
Thanks for stopping by today.

#185 Down by the Beach

Hi,
Well its my turn to choose this theme over at myshericrafts and I've gone for a summer theme. Anything to do with the beach so I'll be looking out for seashells, fish and even a mirmaid or two!!

Here is my card,

I've used a brand new image I have by Sherri Baldy called Steam Punk Mermaid (image 077) and I've coloured her in using my Promarker Pens. I also used up some papers left over from a crop I attended with  merlyimpressions last year. The papers are from the Paradiso collection, I used bits of Sandy Toes and Relaxation. I've also fussy cut out the two different flowers to add to the corners. I stamped a birthday message using a Verve stamp from the Be Blessed set. To finish off I added a few gems and a couple of stickers from the 7Gypsies E for escape set (I've had that for years), I put a touch of glossy accents on the goggles and the bubbles too.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will leave a word or two. Check out the rest of the teams makes there are some great one there.

Twisted Easel Card for Ecletic Ellapu

First of the month see's the start of a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.and the theme for the pink team is again Anything Goes! This means you can show us anything your making right now.
I decided to share a card I made for my neighbours son who is hitting the BIG 50! Oh what's in a number I hear you say lol.
The card is a 6x6 square, I used an image I picked up as he's into his gardening that I could 3D (afraid I can't say who it's by sorry, but I think it's widely sold). I put it together using my trusty Pinflare Glue and then matted it on to a burnt orange card. I used the same orange to cut out the 50 on my Cricut using DonJuan cartridge.
I took another square of the orange and passed it through a embossing folder with the chicken wire effect on it. That went down on the base. I used a odd bit for the stopper strip with the requested sentiment on.
The main image was added to a square of Kraft card which I had added a smaller square of "tune up" by Kaisercraft to first. I punched a few holes in the left side and threaded some of my hubby's gardening twine through anchoring the top with a twirly brad. This chap is also into camping and couldn't resist adding a Kaisercraft rub on to a die cut circle of Kraft and matted on to some orange to fill in that space.
The verse is hidden behind the easel, printed on to white and matted on to Kraft in a hexagon spellbinder shape.
Thanks for stopping by today, leave a message so I know who's stopped by.
