Best Ever!

 Hello!

Today I'd like to share a layout I have made for themadscrapper.blog .

I have recently returned from a fabulous holiday with family in Washington State. I should have gone 3 days after we were put into lockdown 2020! So you can imagine how much I was looking forward to going there.

As you can see I have used my favourite papers and flowers from 49-and-market . The two ladies in the photo with me are my cousins and Karen (on the left) I have not seen since 1979 and Alyson.
Here you can see I have chosen 2 papers to start with Bazzill-boysenberry-smooth and 49-and-market/VAC-Edition-vol-2-paper-1

Then I grabbed a selection of stash that maybe could go on the layout.

Along with lots of flowers and leaves which Janine sells in store.

I decided to do some stitching on the layout, so I first drew a circle and pricked either side of it and then I used a stencil from Bramble Fox for the leaves and inked through with distress-mowed-lawn and seedless-preserves then I stitched using 2 strands of green floss.

Here you can see I have trimmed the top paper to 111/2 and mounted it on to the Boysenberry to frame it but before I did I inked the edge and distressed it.

In the next few photo's you can see how it all came together. A lovely cluster of flowers and leaves here

I tucked some floss underneath as well as a little ticket from simple-stories you may have some left in your own stash.

This photo shows I have used one of my many saved manufacturers strips from kaisercraft to make this sentiment from the Amethyst collection. The little camera at the bottom is wood and I coloured it using Promarkers and tucked it behind a banner.

Here you can see I made a couple of flag banners and added flowers and a little butterfly charm on the same green floss. You can also see Nuvo drops I have added too.

One thing I have added all over the layout are vintage-artistry-rub-ons in splats, stitching and the word Best.

This photo shows that I have layered my photograph on to green and then lilac but placed foam between them. I also tucked a couple of tags in there two.

Here's another little look at the finished layout. I hope I have inspired you to use your wonderful papers and flowers to make something you will be pleased to share with others.

Do pop over to themadscrapper.co.uk where you will be amazed at all the wonderful things Janine has to offer us all.
Thanks again
Sue.

The Great Junk Hunt.

 Hello,

You know when your layouts sometimes just look too similar it's time to shake things up a bit. So I searched the Internet for free sketches and I came up with this shop that also offers free sketch designs to help you use up your purchases or help you with your lost Mojo!

scrapbookgeneration.com  and I used free sketch #12 by Allison Davis. Allison also has a YouTube video to go along with the sketch including 3 other takes on using it. She puts one out each month.

Here is my take on it. She tells you it's only a guideline you can make it suit your photos.

Here is the sketch

I have used the beautiful agabaraniak.com collection called Diva . I only have a few sheets left now so a bit of careful cutting was required here. The papers I have used were Love on Top, I was Here and Ego. I have also used a few scrap pieces and a sheet of Bazzill card in lilac
The sketch required stitching on it which I love to do and I used Anchor in 160. You can also see I have added amethyst gems and some enamel dots.
Below are some close up shots of the finished page, myself and two cousins making us the 3 amigo's!

Don't you hate it when your pen goes all squiffy when you start to journal on your last bit of paper!!

I didn't want to use stars because I had fussy cut out lots of flowers and leaves and wanted to keep it quite feminine also the place we were visiting was a vintage fair selling lots of second hand a reclaimed and reused items.

This seat area was set up just as you came in so you could take a photo and upload to your Instagram account # them at the same time.

Lots of lovely stitching here with the flower clusters added on top.

As you can see I have added dimension to the flowers using glue gel.

Thanks for looking in today.

Sue.

Just A Note!

 Hello,

Today I'd like to share a little project with you which I've made for themadscrapper.blog using a sheet of 12x12 paper from 49-and-market  Artoptions-avesta collection called Flutterbies. I have also used flowers and Laser cuts from them too (a full list below)

I started with a sheet of cardstock, any colour would do as long as it goes with your chosen patterned paper you will be using. I cut it to 61/4 inch square. I scored it 11/2 on all sides giving me a centre of 31/4 which is the size of my cube of sticky notelets. I have nipped a little out of each corner to help the box shape nicely. I use red liner tape as well as wet glue for extra.

This is the paper I have used, I cut a strip 91/2 inch long by 31/4. Then I scored it at 31/4 then 43/4 and next 8.

As you can see here I did cut out a half circle on one of the sides which will become the front and I’ve stuck it all together.

Next I cut out 3 pieces to cover the sides all 11/2 x 31/4. Remember to cut your half circle. Before I attached everything together I inked all edges including the box.

Now the fun begins! I cut out 2 fancy edged circles using both sides of the paper sandwiching some cheesecloth between and placed it centrally on the lid.

You can see here that I have added a small magnet to help it stay closed on your desk.

Here you can see the flowers and leaves I have used along with some of the laser cut ephemera

I added this little text strip from the ephemera as well as fussy cutting some butterflies from the little bit of paper left from the 12inch strip I cut.

Another angle showing the flowers with the glitter and beads added.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you to make a little project like this using papers and flowers you have purchased from Janine at themadscrapper.co.uk or you may have been lucky enough to go in to her shop.
