Something Masculine challenge 134

Hi There,
over at www.myshericrafts.com it is my good friend Sandy's turn to pick the challenge and she has chosen "masculine" so anything you like for that guy in your life.

I have chosen to make a card in a box which I love the look of, infact this is quite easy to make as long as you remember not to hang things too far over the edges of your folded card. Yes this card will fold flat for posting great yes?

I made this card for my darling husband for his birthday this year. It shows images of his favorite things. Fishing, gardening, cycling and his first great love sailing.
As you can see I used a navy blue card base and then taking the image of the cyclist I have tied in all the other colours to match.
The following photos show other angles of the card. You should have a go at this type of card it is so satisfying when it works out. My one hint would be cut everything out Before you start sticking and wet glue is best.

As you can see I have used two embossing folders on this card and to bring it out I inked just with antique linen.

Here is another card I made for a guy, this time I used a topper I picked up at a sale (there were 4 on the sheet). I kept it simple using a splash of siver and red to go with it.

I also used a embossing folder and a Verve sentiment stamp. The back ground paper is from HOTP.

Now it is your turn to join in but first off check out the other DT members blogs to see what they came up with this time.

Botanical Tea.

Good afternoon,

I have had this box frame for over a year now wondering what to put in it that I would want to look at for some time. When I came accross this page of Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper I knew exactly where it was going to end up.

I bought 2 sheets and set about fussy cutting one up. The teapot, big rose and leaves, all 3 birds and 3 postage stamps are double layers. However the title had the butterfly removed before that was layered in to place and then I added the butterfly on top so he is 3 layers deep. I also used liquid pearls and a glitter pen too.

So now when I sit down and look at this there is lots to see. Thanks for stopping by.

Sue.

April Showers Brings at least 3 Flowers

Hello there over at www.myshericrafts.com it is design team sister Sarah's turn to pick our challenge theme for this next two weeks and it is April Showers brings flowers but you MUST have 3 flowers on your card or project.

For this challenge I made my card before Easter which was in April and yes we did have rain showers as normal over here in the UK.

I used this cute Sherri Baldy image 660 which I coloured in using my Promarkers which I tried to pull in the colours from the papers used. The image has 2 flowers and the backing paper has flowers but also I embossed the strip of green using a ditsy flower folder.
I cut the image out using a Spellbinder die and mounted it on to the larger diecut making sure it sat over the same image on the back ground paper. I lifted the pink out of the background paper on the second slimmer strip. I did round two corners on the green but its hidden under the sentiment.

Now it is your turn to join in but please remember to add at least 3 flowers to your project.
