A Star is Born....Challenge 136

Hi,
Over on www.myshericrafts.blogspot.com  this week it is owner Sheri's turn to pick the theme for the challenge and she has chosen make a card or project with at least 2 stars on.

I am pretty sure this is going to be a very busy one this time around. Ofcourse you could have a new baby in the family or someone who is just a star in your eyes so make something for them.

For my card I needed a card for a man who will be 75 and he LOVES his football team but I wanted to keep away from their colours a little aswell as another football card. This theme just fell in to place for me.

The card is a large A5 and I went around the edge with the teams colours in faux stitching. Next I chose the patterned paper and pulled everything else in around it. The background paper has tiny dots on which I ran through a embossing folder and inked the edges, the sentiment is from Verve Stamps. I have some stickers of the team which I placed one inside the star which I die cut all three and twisted. A little football (soccor) touch was the ball stamped on the two flags. The gems are also the teams colours. I used my Cricut to cut the age. Inside I have a large team badge stuck to the loss leaf side of the insert, that bit should please him.

Thanks for stopping by now its your turn to make us something with atleast 2 stars on. Have fun.

Bee Happy

Hi,
I had to make (as I already said) 4 cards for the same guy recently. For this one I used a layout I saw on Jen Tapler's blog, it was so useful I may use it again.

I made a 7x7 white card blank and matted the paper on to some green card stock then added it to the blank. The 3 papers on the strips are from the same sheet of paper which was in quarters. 2 strips are matted on to green and the 3rd is on to glitter yellow. The banners are cut using a Verve Die, the main image is one of their stamps too. I printed the bee happy bit and the time to party comes from the balloon set too. I used a die set to cut out the 2 bee's and 5 ladybirds. The happy birthday is a stamp that came free on a magazine.

I used lots of foam pads on this as the balloons are 3 layer deep. A good job it doesn't need to be posted !!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sue.

Mans World take 2....

Hi,
Thought I'd throw my hat in to the ring again over at www.vervestamps.blogspot.co.uk with another card for "it's a Mans World" Diva Dare for June.

I had to make 4 cards recently for the same man who will be turning 70 in a day or so and I found myself using another Verve Plain Jane stamp (I am loving these stamps right now) so thought I'd give it a try over on their blog.

This is a white tent fold card today as it gave me more room to play with. I took a sheet of Nitwits paper (which came free with a magazine) and ran it through a embossing folder with sprigs and ditsy flowers on, I matted it on to silver mirri card and used foam pads to add it to the card base. The image is some decoupage I had in (he loves his garden to sit in and a glass of wine) which I mounted on to some soft green card. I printed out the special friend sentiment but the Happy Birthday is from Verve Stamps. I cut the 70 using my Cricut which is shadowed in silver mirri too. A few gems to the flowers and a little ribbon and job done.

Thanks for looking in today.

Diva Dare for June...Mans World

Hello there,
This month over at www.vervestamps.blogspot.co.uk The Diva Dare for this month is "Mans World" so I thought I'd take part and share my card I made for my Dad for this coming Sunday. As they live in Llandudno we won't see them so this card is just to let him know how much I love him and for being so darn awesome.

I made him this 7x7 card using kraft card as the base, I added a back ground paper after I embossed. Then I mounted a piece of wood grained paper which I have had in my stash for years on to some bling Bazil card, I used the same card to cut the mount for the sentiment, dad and little hearts from. I also used that pretty leafy die with kraft card. A couple of gems and some twine and that was it.

I think he will like this as in his younger days he was a carpenter, hence the paper I chose.

Happy Fathers Day Dad, you are AWESOME.

Sue.

The stamp I used is a Plain Jane from Verve Stamps.

3 in a Row....challenge 135

Well hello there,
this week it is my turn to choose the theme for our challenge over at www.myshericrafts.com and I think I have chosen a nice easy one for us all to enjoy. It is a 3 in a row.

Row one.    Tag shape, button, embossing (either type)

Row two.    Pattern paper, image, pearls

Row three.  Paper piecing, die cut, flowers

I knew this would be easy for some of you and I even expect to see a few cards with all 9 items on.

Here is my card. It was made for an order for a lovely young lady.

As you can see I almost made a card with all 9 but alas I only fitted 7 on there.

This card is a 7x7 white card and I have used a pink from Kaisercraft as the first mat but not before I cut the hexagon out of it to mat the image on to. The patterned paper I have had a while and I think it is Dovecraft, I ran it through a embossing folder and inked the edges with worn lipstick. The image is a Bestie and coloured in using my Promarkers. The lace was a gift and the sentiment is from a set I won over at Verve Stamps (they are wonderful), I added 3 pearls and 3 roses to finish off.

I am also entering this card in to the Bestie challenge over at www.bestieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk

Here is another card I made this was for my Big Sister and her Hubby's wedding anniversary not long ago.

This card uses row two, patterned paper, image and pearls.
This again is a 7x7 card but kraft card. I used again Kaiserkraft plain paper and also patterned paper from the same set. The image is a stencil I just bought which I inked up using 5 different Tim Holtz inks pulling in the colours from the papers. 6 pearls add a little touch before finishing off with 4 roses and some diecut leaves.

Now its time for you to join in and show us your master pieces. Please remember it must be 3 in a row horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Have fun

Sue
