Fathers Day card over at MSC

Today over at www.myshericrafts.com our design team was asked to make a card or project with Fathers day in mind. Sandy asked us to make a male theme card which was to have some embossing on it.
Here is my card which I will be sending up to my Dad in North Wales.

This card is 5x7 in size and first I pricked the edge and stitched the bakers twine through and brought it to the front to tie off.
The image is from Rubbernecker which I stamped using black and then heat embossed with clear powder. I coloured it in using my trusty Promarker pens.
After that I used my Spellbinder die to make a "in to the box" cut away. This is shown to us by Sue Wilson of www.particraft.blogspot.com I then used the die design to cut away the rest of the white card, I inked using black soot. I popped a bit of union jack paper behind and then matted it on to silver paper leaving a small boarder.
I did a spot of faux stitching and printed out my own sentiment and gave that the same treatment too. Of course I had to add a few pearls in the top corner.

Now it is your turn to make a card and post it over on the link. Remember it must have embossing on it and in a male theme to stand a chance to win.

Thanks for looking in.

Dip your rod!!

Well hello again and thanks for looking in.
Over at www.mypapercrafting.com it is Digi Dessert Fridaze which means you can link up your own creation with a chance to win a wonderful prize.

This week I decided to show the card I made my Hubby for his birthday just gone. I chose to use the QT patootie boy with frog-fishing digi.

I made a A5 card blank out of 350gsm cream card. Then using some papers which came free I covered the card in a plaid design, then using the dot paper I ran it through my GC using a dot and line embossing folder and rubbed over with some brushed corduroy ink , I matted that on to some green. I coloured in the digi using my Promarker pens. I matted that image 3 more times and added a birthday greeting disc to fill in some of the free space.
Using my SB I cut out some leaves and the sentiment and placed that at the bottom of the card.

My hubby enjoyed the card but had to say he didn't think he ever had hair quite like that lol.

Thanks for looking and now I invite you to go look and see what the other girls have made this week. Please join in we all love to see your creations.

Reasons to be cheerful.........

I went out on Sunday for a look around a fairly local craft shop in Buckingham and picked up a couple of new bits to play with. Whilst there I saw a great layout which inspired me to come home and get one done.

For this page I used 2 old photos of my DH who makes me smile everyday. Both photos were taken in Paris but a few months apart. We had two lovely holidays with our son whilst he was small staying in Gites we hired and that is where the first photo comes from. The second is a weekend away just the two of us but in the autum of 1999.

I took a sheet of pink and then added the miss caroline paper from My Minds Eye after cutting away a few places. The doily is already on the page but I added ribbon which I stiched down adding some beads. I then cut out some flowers using scraps to match the paper and a couple of tiny winged things too.
The words are from Kaisercraft  forget-me-not  and pickled pear collections. A few gems and brads dotted about and the page is ready.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Pretty Peach and Green Combo

Hello there,
Today I needed to make a anniversary card for my sister and her hubby for the end of the month and I had in my mind to use this doily design on the miss matched collection from Kaisercraft. I had bought the papers from www.merlyimpressions.co.uk a while back and used up most of them but had kept this bit back.

I made a 6x6 easel card from kraft paper and lined the base with illusion from charlotte's dream collection which I first ran through my GC using my new A4 tapestry folder. I matted a sq of peach on to the kraft card and layed down the doily I had cut out adding some ribbon under first. I printed out a sentiment which I copied from another part of the paper and used a SB die to cut that out which I matted.
I fussy cut out some spare flowers and added them to the card here and there. I didn't have a swirl in green gems so I made my own. I added the little tag to the left and then made the stopper for the card which I added a few more gems and the greeting.

Thanks for looking in today and please come back again soon.

I am entering this in to a challenge over at delightful sketches in there bingo challenge, it just gets in with the little tag I added.

3d Flower Time

Hello again,

Over at www.myshericrafts.com design team member Peachy asked us all to make a card or project using 3d flower embellishments.

So here is mine.

For this card I decided to make my favorite 6x6 card blank. Then using free papers from a magazine I covered the card blank leaving a boarder. Then I made to strips which I gave flag ends to using a lovely lime green cardstock and more free paper.
I used my SB to cut out the large mat for the image but at the same time I cut the small mat for the sentiment from its middle. I used the same green to cut out and then lay the peel off sentiment on to and put over there on the left.
The flowers are then built up using silicon glue, each layer less and less. I had to add 3 gems in the top corner and that was it job done.
This card I think can be used for any thoughtful time even sympathy.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you now go checkout what the others are doing for this challenge and then maybe you will link up your own 3d flower creation.

Rub On's Are Great...

Hello again and thanks for stopping by.
I have just one card to share with you today as the other I have made is for a challenge in a couple of weeks and so I can't add it here today.

I made this card for my friend who has a birthday this next week, it is a 5x7 card blank in black.
I have used a sheet of Basic Grey paper on this one which I have had for some years, one of those you get out and think "why did I buy you". But this time its time was up lol.
I ran it through the GC using one of Sue Wilson's new embossing folders, the big A4 ones. I finally managed to cut correctly the SB edgabillity bracket die using a strip of black and then yellow which I placed on the left but first ran a length of white ribbon around the raw edge. I cut some leaves from the SB die and two pennants which I stuck down using silicon glue for height. Then using a panel from the "Pickled Pear" collection from Chrissy over at www.merlyimpressions.co.uk  I used a "friends" rub on which I chopped up to fit the gap and matted that on to 2 layers and placed on the card at an angle.
I stamped one of the Kaisercraft butterfly's on to acetate and cut out after first colouring in a little and then using silicon glue I attached to the bottom of the panel after lifting its wings. After adding the pearls to the die cut strip the card was ready.

Thanks for looking in today.

A Couple to Share ....

Well I have been trying to make a few cards to have in hand this week. Also I have been trying to use up bits and bobs from my stash.

I love to buy Kaisercraft papers (as you may be aware) and they do these sheets which have up to 12 blocks on them which are double sided and fab to use on cards as toppers with the addition of a rub on or a stamped image, so that was what I set out to use. I buy my papers from Chrissy over at www.merlyimpressions.co.uk when I go to her bi-monthly crop, she has the largest selection in the UK and almost everyone gives her a 5* rating.

This first card uses the "Velvet Ensemble" collection. I took a turquoise card blank in 5x7 tent fold, I covered it with the text paper which I had run through my GC using the Swiss dot folder. I then matted a fabric looking paper with a hint of burgundy in it and tied some crushed ribbon around the edge. Then taking the panel with the image you see on I fussy cut it out and trimmed the rest to the size I wanted. I wrapped a little bit of lace around a scrap of the card and attached and then I took a rub on from the "friendship" collection and put that down at the top of the panel.
The backside of the text paper is that what I used to mat the panel on to. I then attached the fussy cut image down using silicon glue. I put some glossy accents on the fob watch and camera lens and attached a metal button to the one printed on the paper. I added 3 pearls to the bottom and there you go.

This card above uses the same paper collection but the small amounts left over.
The card is 5.5 x 5.5 so it will go in a 6 sq envelope as you can see I have over hung the image and sentiment this time.
I added a metal note charm to a length of bakers twine at the top for movement and the text paper has again been run through the GC with the same folder. The images have both been matted on to a different layer and 3 black gems added to the main one.

Thanks for stopping by today, I have more to share with you hopefully tomorrow.

Hi...it's your birthday

Hi to all,
As it is Friday that means it has to be Digi Desserts Fridaze over at www.mypapercrafting.com so why not pop over there and catch a peek at what everyone has made for you to get inspired by.

Today I made this cute little birthday card using the skunk in the pot with 2 blooms digi, you can have so much fun with the super cute digi's to match the person or the papers you have in your stash.

The card is a 5x5 card blank, then I used some Kaisercraft paper to put down my first mat and then the next layer I ran through my GC using the flourish folder. The little boarder is the cut off strip at the bottom of a page. I used my Cricut to cut out Hi and added a touch of glitter to the dot on the i. 3 golden gems finished it off. The image is coloured in using my Promarkers.

Thanks for looking in.

Ist Birthday Card

Hi,
Well I had all my housework done at the beginning of the week and so I got some time to craft.

My friend's granddaughter is 1 today and she asked if I could make her a card so I set to and came up with this little one.

The card is 6x6 tent fold in 300gsm cream card.
The back ground paper is doublesided, so I covered the right side with the dot design and the slim left side in the square design. I ran both through an embossing folder first with a daisy design and then inked over using Antique Linen.
I used a MS boarder punch on some MME paper and added some pink ric rac ribbon. I used a SB die to cut the central design out of the same MME paper and inked that too. I made a faux mat for it.
I inked up using pink in to brown on my Verve "twinkle twinkle" stamp and embossed in clear powder. Again I used a SB die to cut it out and then made a mat using Story Book cartridge. I used Don Juan to cut the hearts, a stamp was used to make 3 flowers of one I trimmed it back to layer on top of the other and added some glitter. I added a little peeloff teddy and a button and a brad.
The sentiment I printed out on my pc and then cut out using a SB die.

I think this card hit the spot as when I handed it over to my friend she cried.

Thanks for looking in today and I hope you come back soon.
