Christmas Cards

 Hello Again!

I'm here on the The Mad Scrapper blog today sharing 2 Christmas cards I have made using papers and embellishments from the Peace and Joy collection by 49-and-market.

I have made these for a brother and sister so I like them to be similar.

I started by cutting out two white 6.5inch circle card blanks and then I took the Wishes paper and cut two slightly smaller circles but using the red side. On to that I passed white Gesso through my Finnabair-Iris stencil, after it was dry I distressed the edges. I added each flat to the card blank.

Then I carefully cut out a smaller circle catching the winter rose and another fancy edge circle from the Holly paper as you can see in the photo below.

I attached chipboard to the wrong side to lift it from the red but not before adding a little Cheesecloth to soften the edges.
The next 4 photos show the finished cards with the addition of all the lovely embelishments from the Ephemera Kit and flowers from the store as well as my stash.

I used the centre of a doily as the mat for my sentiment, I also added some sweet flower lace with pearls in their centres. The large title banner is from the collection and I made a couple of banner tags from paper cut-offs. The flowers on this card are from royal-posies-tomato along with a pinecone like flower from royal-spray-ocean-jade. I have also added berries and Nuvo drops in red and white.

The next two photos show the other slightly different card. As you can see I have used the second banner from the ephemera kit, there are two others in it but slightly different. I made a tag and added ribbon then tucked it under my cluster of flowers this time from majestic-bouquet in tomatoroyal-posies in tomato and Garden-petals in Parchment I added a couple of crystal berries and a gold one.

Here you can see the sweet little sentiment which I added to a doily I cut out using the last little bit of the red paper. I also added red and white Nuvo drops and to both cards I tucked in leaves and twigs which I die cut from my stash.

I hope you like what I have made for you today and maybe get inspired to use your papers for cardmaking too. Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to call in at the themadscrapper.co.uk to see all the other beautiful papers in the collection. Till next time, take care.

Days to Remember!

 Hello Again!

Today I have a layout for The Mad Scrapper Blog. I have been revisiting some of my very first layouts and boy were some of them plain! So I have decided to break them down, removing the precious photos and in some case embelishments and remake them. This layout is one of the first I have completed and I have to say it resembles nothing of the first LOL.

Main photo

This is our son Jonathan who is now 28! I can say he loves this new version. I am using papers, ephemera and a rub-on from the Peace and Joy collection by 49andmarket. I started by punching stars around 2 edges of cherry-splashsmoothies by Bazzill. Then I cut the Starry page down to 11inch and distressed the edges, then taking the  Tim Holtz-Stars-stencil I mixed up some gesso and acrylic paint in blue, green and red and sponged them through.

photo 1 + 2

Then I put a strip of green and blue under the punched out stars to show through. Here you can see I have taken a frame from the peace-joy-ephemera-bits the bit that's missing I'll keep for again (you know how that goes!) funny how you do all that work on the paper and then you go cover it up!
Photo 3

This next photo shows that I have added two stars that I have cut out from peace-joy-holly and matted on to cherry-splash I have also added a spring-tree by Dusty Attic which I have embossed using a selection of powders by WoW! I took a sentiment from the ephemera pack and matted it on to green it is not stuck down yet in this photo.
photo 4

So now is the best bit, placing down the photo and filling out with lots of lovely flowers and embelishments. Some are from my stash but lots are from the store. The photo is matted on to a greeny blue piece of card and then on to foam to lift it. Here you can see a couple of paper baubles with a bakers twine bow and a couple of cotton balls.
photo 5

This next one shows the sentiment which I have raised and placed down. I cut a fishtail from the Holly paper to match one out of the ephemera pack and added beneath along with more stars and a heart gem. You can also see the one rub-on I have used from vintage-artistry-everyday pack

Photo 6

Here you can see a bit closer the small flower cluster and the spring tree. You may also spot that I have added some clear glass beads by Finnabair
photo 7

On this next photo you can see the little banner I added made from the inch wide strip I cut off.
photo 8

I took a Merry Christmas chipboard I have had for a while and I can't remember if it is by Dusty Attic or not but I painted it white and then embossed it using Silver Bells and Vintage Candy Cane by Wow to tie in with the tree.
photo 9

This next photo shows the main cluster on the page along with a tab from the ephemera pack and some cheesecloth I tucked under the photo. I went in with some gell medium on the flowers so I could add snowy glitter. I love how all this just fitted together to make a much improved layout of my sons 2nd Christmas.

The full list of flowers and leaves are here 49-and-market Majestic-bouquet-tomatoRoyal-posies- tomatoRoyal-posies-ocean-jadeRoyal-spray-ocean-jade. I have also added Nuvo drops in Red Berry and Bright Gold. Snowy white glitter, bakers twine and sequins from Spiegelmom. Then to finish off I splattered white gesso.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed reading how I put this together today and will maybe be inspired to create your own Christmas layout. There are so many beautiful papers in this collection along with Rub-on's and Bubbles also you will find a set of stamps which have useful images on. So pop on over to themadscrapper and check out all the goodies, new stock arriving every week.

Till next time, take care.

Mocha Crazy!

 Hello!

Today I'm up on the themadscrapper.blog with a layout using a photo I have wanted to scrap with for nearly 2 years!

I was having one of those last minute look about the shops before Christmas just incase I should find a little goody I thought we may like and I felt I deserved a little treat so I called in to Hotel Chocolate where they have a little coffee shop and I decided to have myself a Mocha as I'm not fussed over hot chocolate but when it arrived I nearly fell off my seat!! I can tell you it was devine and I am sure I will try another this year. It was the strongest coffee but it didn't matter due to all the whipped chocolate cream on top.

Anyway on to the layout itself. I chose to use storyline collection by Heidi Swapp. I first gutted the Everyday paper leaving a inch boarder all around and then I cut down the Market-fresh to 11inches.
Then I took a pale green marker and drew a circle. I took out my sewing machine and using a grey thread I went around the circle twice crossing over the lines trying to make it random in appearance.

I then did something I'd seen the night before by Srappycat on YouTube I took a stencil and laid it around the circle as if the branches were fastened to it. I used the following Distress Inks adding layers peeled-paint , crushed-olivekitsch-flamingo  and worn-lipstick.

Then I took the  string-frame-set by Dusty Attic using the middle size and embossed with rangers-white embossing-powder and then I re-inked and added a tiny sprinkle of ranger-pink embossing-powder and a touch of brown by ranger. I attached the photo to it trimming close to the edge. I brushed some pink distressed ink around where it was to go and stuck in down with foam pads. I cut the flower from one of the tags and tucked it underneath along with some flowers I made using a stamp and the home-grown paper by Heidi.
I made a tiny cluster in the top right using cut-offs from the gutted other side and another flower as well as a cute sentiment stamp from my stash.

Here you can see the other cluster on the left side. This uses a coffee stamp set  which has these cute cups along with steam and topical sentiments. I paper pieced the pattern to them and added the one with foam pads. I also added a few flowers from Green-Tara in ochre and a couple of leaves from 49-and-market/flowers

Here you can see one of the 5 finnabair- clear-melange--pebbles I have used. 3 I glued to papers used so the patterns could show through.

This last photo show you other items I have added to the layout such as gold, green and red sequins also some squiggles in pink and green. I did add some glossy accents to a couple of the pink inked berries but they don't show up so well!

I hope I have inspired you to use a photo on a layout instead of leaving it on your phone like I did with this one. Thanks for stopping by today, do pop over to themadscrapper.co.uk Janine has some lush papers instock along with my personal favourites flowers! as well as many other things we couldn't do without!!

Till next time take care

Sue.

One of a Kind!

 Hello there!

Today I am sharing a layout I have made as the Guest Designer over at kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com .

I joined in with their challenge a couple of months back and was delighted to be chosen to GD.

As always you must use kraft card and follow the mood board they display, below is the one I followed

My layout shows my handsome (departed) cat. He was such a delight and will be forever in our hearts just as the sentiments say on the board.

I have used a 12inch dark-kraft by Bazzill and using my sewing machine I have stitched around all 4 sides. I stamped some paw prints and added some orange hearts by a stencil. Then I took out a selection of papers cutting each at 3/4inch and distressing all sides and added them to some foam before attaching to the kraft.

Here's a couple of close up shots of the layout.

The stamped sentiment is by Verve (My favourite) and other stickers are by Simple Stories. I have tucked a suitcase underneath the papers because he was sat on top of ours hoping to come with us and not to the cattery lol as we were all ready to leave for a holiday in France.

Other items used are a mini tab by dusty-attic, Nuvo drops and some white gesso and black acrylic paint which I used to make the splatters.

Thanks for stopping by today, please go over and check out the blog and hopefully join in.

Take care,

Sue.

Gratitude!

Hello,

I'm sharing today a layout I have made to join in with the Facebook group for 49andmarket October Challenge and also the themadscrapperblog.

I have used supplies purchased at themadscrapper.co.uk This online store has an amazing variety of papers, flowers, stamps etc by 49-and-market click the link and have a good time.

Here is the challenge sketch we had to follow. We could flip it to make it work for us but I chose to keep close to the original this time.

Today I have decided to make a Autumn theme page using this wonderful photograph which was shared on a group I belong to by my friend. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to use it.

Papers used today are as follows pomegranate by Bazzill and 49-and-market/vintage-artistry-in-the-leaves-autumnal. I used a stencil and inked through with distress-ink-pad-walnut-stainvintage-photo and fired-brick. Then I stitched using red metallic thread around the bottom right and just normal red up at the top left. I used a note pad style punch to the left side and then attached it to the Bazzill card.

The photos were matted on to green and black cardstock and the main photo has cream stitching to the side. I added Jute ribbon and then I made a couple of tags using vintage-artistry-natural-collage-stack placing them on the right of the photos. I also added leaves and stamen from my stash .

Over here on the left of the photo I have used the beautiful new vintage-artistry-in-the-leaves-foliage these are amazing! I've lifted some and others not. I have also added more leaves cut from other papers in the collection and then flowers from 49andmarket which here are royal-posies-tomatoenchanted-petals-parchment and ginger-mini series

You will also see I have added other things to the layout. A mushroom, green gems, finnabair-melange-art-pebbles-clear which I coloured with reds and orange inks into gesso-white . I have also added 2 new to me products bramblefox perspectives. I just love that disc at the bottom right. I also tried a bit of splattering in gold and white and to finish black Nuvo Drops.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you like this and will join in with the challenge as well as a bit of shopping instore.

                                            Take Care

                                   Sue.

Birthday Wishes

 Hello!

Today I'm sharing a card I have made for the The Mad Scrapper blog using some beautiful papers by Cocoa-Vanilla-Studio. I am using a mix of papers from two collections.

It's a 7x7inch white card base, to which I added flat a piece of pretty-posies. Then I took a smaller piece of These Days from These-days-collection-kit and on top of that I added a smaller piece of Wall of Fame but the other side showing this pretty peach. I stitched around 2 corners and distressed the edges and added it to foam before attaching it to the card base.

Next I went to the Daydream-garden-variety paper and fussy cut out all the flowers and selecting some to add to the card front above and below the central banner. Here you can just see I placed some flat to the paper before adding others with foam pads.

I added a butterfly to the edge of the banner which I cut from Take-flight as you will see on that paper there are many to cut out! I also added a little glitter glue to its centre.

Other items used on this card have been Black pearls and pearls which I have coloured with my alcohol pens to match in.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please leave a word or two so I know who has been. Also I hope you can checkout the online store over at themadscrapper.co.uk you will be able to see the full collections I have used along with others from many different top brands available.

Take Care

Sue.

Happy Halloween

 Hello!

Here I am today sharing this cute Halloween Hanger for themadscrapper blog, I'm using one of those inexpensive ply pumpkin shapes which I picked up in a bargain shop for a £1.

I'm using papers and flowers from Thirty-one Collection by Prima Marketing.
Firstly I covered the stalk in black paint and then I tool the All-the-treats paper using the web side to cover the base. I sanded the edges once the glue was dry. Then I coloured some heavy-white-gesso with some gold acyclic paint and passed it through my finnabair-tapestry stencil in a few places.

Then I gathered some other bits together that I thought I may use. As you can see I cut a few ghosts from the hocus-pocus paper, a few bats using the blush-glitter card and some black from my stash. Also I found some feathers, cheesecloth and those cute jack-o-lanterns by Dusty Attic.

I gesso'd the jack-o-lanterns, a witches hat charm and a tassel top and when dry I added baby pink paint. I painted the stalks with gold and black paint. The tassel I made using the Hocus Pocus paper and a die.
The two papers I have chosen to use on their reverse side have jouraling cards and that is where I cut the October 31st and the Black Cat Boo! from. There are other images which can be used just as easy on cards or even gift bags.

The next 3 photos show close ups of the finished project.
Here you can see the beautiful flowers and yes those gold beads are in the centres! You can also see the tassel I made too.

Here you can see the black cat card which I matted on to another journal card with another under that shows the golden web which itself was matted on to black glitter card. All edges were distressed before sticking down. There's the witches hat too.

Another close up of the flowers but you can also see the pink and white pompoms I added as well as the pink flower gems and a few pink glitter glue drops. Other items used today were Nuvo Drops in white and black and some bakers twine too.

Thanks for stopping by today. I do hope you can spend some time and check out this collection along with many others instore or online at themadscrapper.co.uk.

Till next time, take care.

Sue.
