Scrapbooking Show.

 Hello there,

Today you find me over on  The Mad Scrapper Blog with another layout from my holiday in the USA.

This layout shows us at the scrapbooking show held in the area I was staying at Puyallup. I have used papers available from Janine along with snippets of the show guide and cool phrases off a sheet of paper I bought there (you will see them popping up in any more layouts I share!) a full list can be found below.

I have kept this half sheet of Kaisercraft Crafternoon paper for some years and I just new I wanted to use it here, I pulled the pale green to use as my boarder but not before I gutted out a portion from the left to use as mats. I also used a half sheet of Summer Porch take flight paper to which I added distress ink through the tapestry stencil as I thought it looked a little like the pattern on my top. I also added the merchandise strip off Plum Grove - blossom with added stitching on it to hide the gaps where the papers were joined.
This photo shows us arriving at the show all excited to get in we were ten minutes after the doors opened!  This is Karen and myself looking all fresh. You can see I've added a skinny strip of the merchandising strip off take flight because it was in red, white and blue.

I printed my journaling to make sure I could get plenty down.

This is Alyson and myself at the end, we'd been there for 7 hours! I think if someone could they'd have come back again tomorrow (Karen). Our bags were full of some excellent goodies

Here is my stash, they wouldn't take photo's of theirs because it was twice the size of mine lol. The phrase is off the merchandise strip off the crafternoon paper I thought it was quite apt. Lots of vendors gave away badges to keep or fridge magnets one even gave away a decent tote bag.

Once we got back to Alyson's we opened a bottle of wine along with chips n dips and sat in the sun. Then it was time to go in and check out or stashes. Such a wonderful day I just had to preserve it on a layout.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I've inspired you to get down your memories on a page along with memorabilia you've saved of the day. Do call in to see Janine for papers to go with your event if not then go online to The Mad Scrapper  and see her full selection there.

Seattle 2024

 Hello,

Here I am on The Mad Scrapper Blog today sharing my first holiday layout when I visited family in USA and we made a visit to Seattle. The weather was beautiful and sunny as we walked along the sea front stopping to take photos.

For this layout I have used the beautiful Summer Porch collection from 49andmarket. I have the full collection which includes an extra patterned paper on the reverse side of the front cover, which is the blue mat.

Firstly I trimmed the Splendour sheet to 111/2 and distressed the edges and because I love to I added stitching just above the printed lines in red and black floss. I gathered together a selection of Chipboard bits from the Summer Porch and Serenity collections that I thought I may use along with fussycut flowers from the Day Dream sheet, you can see all in the photo below.
Here you can see how I have added a couple of the journal cards as well as a fancy mat in grey under the photo also some muslin for texture. All edges were distressed and the photo was lifted using some cardboard from my delivery box (thank you Janine)

Once I was happy with the placement of the photo I started to make my clusters using the fussy cut blooms tucking in other bits and pieces

Here you can see I added a couple of postage stamps and another phrase from a older kit.

Here you can see the top smaller cluster along with some of the stitching. I added some teeny tiny red gems around the layout

There were beautiful planted areas along the front with plenty red and white flowers which is why I chose this sheet to use. The paper ribbon used is again from an older collection

To finish off the layout I used flat sequins in soft green and tiny red gems. I hope I have inspired you to breakout the collection and not just use it for beach themed photos. Do call in to see Janine at the shop to checkout all the beautiful papers and embelishments she has available, if you can't make it go to The Mad Scrapper  online store.

Thanks for stopping by again today

Ice Cream Wednesday

 Hello,

Today I am up over on  The Mad Scrapper Blog with this cute layout of my sister's granddaughter Eleanor who spends Wednesdays with them most weeks. As they live by the coast on the better days they take a trip out and if it's not to chilly she loves to have an ice cream. This photo was taken just after she had finished the most enormous 99!

I started by taking a sheet of 49andmarket Spectrum Sherbet collection (my last from the collection) cutting it down to 11 then I added some hand stitching to each of the slices leaving threads hanging off the edge. I distressed the edges and matted on to black. Then I found some red and white dot paper to give a playful boarder. I took the photo and matted it on to black with foam underneath for lift.

Because Eleanor's skirt has strawberries on it I grabbed the strawberry paper by Maja Designs and cut out a heart which I decided to make into a shaker so the top is made from Monochromes- Coral I added little strawberry shaker mix in to it. I also cut lots of different dies using Bazzill basics and a full list is at the bottom. The ice-cream cone die I have had for years and I think only the 2nd time in use!! The Love You is cut from a 49&market spice paper and matted on to their green.

Once I was happy with my collection of ephemera I set about putting the layout together. Of course you always need a few more bits and this is where the tickets were added from the Strawberry Lemonade Ephemera kit and the little arrows.

I also used some snippets from the sticker sheet of Simply Stories Wild Flower and Boho Baby collections.

Here is a closer look at the ice-creams as you can see I cut out another this time a Mivi

I like to where possible add a little hand written journaling and this will help her in years to come remember what went on. To finish off I added some flat sequins in candy colours about the page.

Thanks for stopping by again today, I hope you get chance to call in a see Janine at the shop and check out all the new goodies which are arriving weekly if not do as I do and visit The Mad Scrapper  online.
