over at www.myshericrafts.com it is my good friend Sandy's turn to pick the challenge and she has chosen "masculine" so anything you like for that guy in your life.
I have chosen to make a card in a box which I love the look of, infact this is quite easy to make as long as you remember not to hang things too far over the edges of your folded card. Yes this card will fold flat for posting great yes?
I made this card for my darling husband for his birthday this year. It shows images of his favorite things. Fishing, gardening, cycling and his first great love sailing.
As you can see I used a navy blue card base and then taking the image of the cyclist I have tied in all the other colours to match.
The following photos show other angles of the card. You should have a go at this type of card it is so satisfying when it works out. My one hint would be cut everything out Before you start sticking and wet glue is best.
As you can see I have used two embossing folders on this card and to bring it out I inked just with antique linen.
Here is another card I made for a guy, this time I used a topper I picked up at a sale (there were 4 on the sheet). I kept it simple using a splash of siver and red to go with it.
I also used a embossing folder and a Verve sentiment stamp. The back ground paper is from HOTP.
Now it is your turn to join in but first off check out the other DT members blogs to see what they came up with this time.

Both of these cards are fabulous Sue! The box card is very clever! I have never seen one done masculine yet, so this one is off the charts perfect! The second card, wow, those colors, and the design of it is so striking! If I could use the work gorgeous I will! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Both cards are amazing! I LOVE the box card.... there is so much versatility in them! Your hubby will certainly appreciate it! And the other card looks so cool with your color choice and embossing.... LOVE IT!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteThis box card is sooo amazing -- I'll surely need to try one soon! And your black/red card is just so classy -- LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteSue, first of all... great card! I love the red, white, black, and silver. Great layering of all the elements.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your box / card... love everything about it. How does it fold flat? Mind giving me a link to a tutorial? I really would like to make something like this. Thanks in advance!
