Funky Christmas Time.. Challenge 124

Hello there,
Well this week over at design team member Raquel has asked us to think out of the box and make a card or project for Christmas but NOT to use traditional colours.

I chose to make this large tag as we all need lots of these.

I started with a black tag shape and using a mixture of stamps I went to town. I embossed with white powder then cut out the tree shapes. I used gold Cosmic Shimmer Powder to bring out the flourishes and added a few gems to their ends. I stamped out the bird on lime green paper and gave him a little orange breast, I mounted him on to black then orange and used foam pads to lift him just like the trees.
I took a burnt orange Kaisercraft rose and added some SB twigs in orange and green. I then decided to do a bit of stitching in two places to draw it all in. A double ribbon at the top and to finish off I mounted it on to the same lime green paper I stamped the bird on, that way you can write on the back but also hide the ends.

Thanks for looking in this time. Please join in with us on this fun challenge.

  1. Sue, I love your tag! Based on your description, I'm sure the tag is more exquisite in real life. I love the idea of mixing up all the stamps and embossing all over the place. I will have to try that in the future. Wonderful project! Beautiful!

  2. Sue, your tag is so unique and wonderful! Who would have thought non traditional colors could come out like this! It looks like you really went all out on this tag by your description! Great job on it!
Since this is our last post this year, I wish you, Dorian, and Jonathan a very Merry Christmas! We will speak soon I am sure!
    Hugs, Sandy.

  3. Sue, this is an AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS tag -- WOW!!! LOVE all your sweet little details & embossing, which really pops on your black BG!!! Great job on this masterpiece in non-traditional Christmas colors!

  4. Sue, this tag is just awesome! I love all the techniques that you used in coming up with this one-of-a-kind tag!
