Sweet Photo Shoot.

Hello,
Today I'm sharing a layout on  The Mad Scrapper Blog using the lovely collection recently released by Simple Stories who were working with My Minds Eye on this Wildflower collection still available in  The Mad Scrapper  store.

I will tell you what's happened here in this next photo. I trimmed down the plaid paper and distressed the edges, then I added the stitching to the corners because I had cut a circle and stitched all around it and stencilled some flowers on it but when I placed it down and the photo on top it just didn't look right so the circle hasn't made it but I couldn't do anything about this stitching so there it stays!!

I mounted the photo on to some pink card giving a nice nod to the flowers around the girls. I knew I wanted to use the BIG sticker from the sheet that comes with the pad but didn't quite know where I was going to place it so I put it on white paper and cut tightly around it. One of the sheets is full of pretty top tags so I added one of those with the tiny bit of journaling on it. The photo has a piece of chipboard under it which allows me to tuck embellishments underneath.

One sheet of paper is covered in these beautiful pink blooms along with smaller individuals and leaves so I sat and fussy cut the lot. That meant I could make my big bold clusters out of them. I chose to make two and added to the top right and bottom left of the photograph. Some lay flat and others had foam pads under for dimension. The you and me is off the sticker sheet too.

Here you can see the bottom cluster and the placement of the tag which I added the same green floss to. I have also used some flowers from the Floral Bits pack.

To finish off I added some pink and blue Kaisercraft pearls from my stash. Complete bliss is a sticker too.

Thanks once again for stopping by. I hope I've inspired you to dive in and fussy cut some of those big floral papers that come in collections because they work so well together. Check out the other papers and embellishments Janine has in that go with this collection.

Beach Days Are Best!

 Hello,

Today I am sharing another layout for The Mad Scrapper Blog and it shows my cousins adorable girls at the beach on Anglesey this last half term break.

I am joining in with the 49andmarket sketch challenge for July with this and you can find the sketch below along with the products used. Now I have used an older collection of which I know Janine was very busy with and could well be sold out but then you may be like me and have some left in your stash because it was very extensive. I gathered all my possibilities together before I made a start. Is that something you do? I know I generally do but never use it all!

I chose my main paper and decided I wanted to mat it on a pink to pop the colour of the fishing ne the girls were using, so I trimmed it down but in a wonky style. I added a selection of rub-ons around the page.

The sketch called for an image of to one side so I took one of the miniature postcards from the ephemera pack and trimmed it down adding some florals and another phrase.

I made this cluster for the bottom right corner including another sweet rub-on.

I matted the photo on to a piece of world map paper in the pink area, tucked a touch of green which I punched with the notebook punch. The pink layer on the right is from the laser cut pack. Another rub-on just above the sentiment is perfect for these two as love nothing better than to check things out together.

This photo shows how everything is loaded on top of each other so plenty of depth. I added pink, amber and glittery blue Nuvo drops around the page to finish things off.

Thanks again for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to use up some of those extensive kits. Check out the others Janine has available in  The Mad Scrapper  if you are lucky and live close by pop in, I know she will be pleased to see you.

Love this life!

 Hello,

Today I'm up on  The Mad Scrapper Blog with this double page layout of my husband competing in this years Radio Controlled Model Yacht Global Championships which were held in Fleetwood in May.

He was so pleased to qualify as he has only been sailing these boats since late 2018 and there were skippers from around the world in attendance. Because the boats are in many different colours and it was such wonderful weather the photographs are lovely and bright to I chose to use the colourful collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio  Happy Days.

I chose to follow a sketch for this layout because I needed to show many photos and sometimes you just need a hand with layout don't you think? Here is the sketch.

As you can see I have followed quite closely, cutting up the papers so as not to waste precious paper. I have also added a little sailing boat stamped image but most of it has been covered by the papers but not to worry. As you can see I flipped the stripes on the bottom strips for a little contrast.

Here you can get a better look at the lefthand side. I have trimmed down the photos to allow them to be mounted on to some dark grey paper. The top photo shows the course they will follow, all those little cubes represents a gate or the start and finish line. This was tweaked daily due to wind strength or direction. That's my hubby with his boat and all other photos will show it in action.

I have chopped up journaling cards to give cute sentiments to dot about. I have also added puffy hearts and the championship sticker.

Here is a closer look at the right hand page. Again with more action shots. I have added his fleet board strip on top of the flag banner and the host sailing clubs sticker too. More cute sentiments and a fabulous perspextive title embellishment by Bramble Fox  to round things up.

Thanks for stopping by again today, I hope I have inspired you to chop up your papers to make great backgrounds for your layouts.

Beautiful.

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing a layout I have made for The Mad Scrapper Blog using beautiful papers from Maja Designs. A full list can be found at the bottom of this post.

This layout will be a gift to my dearest friend as it shows her daughters wedding dress before she wore it back in September last year.
When I saw this photograph I knew I wanted to use it but had to wait for it to come on over to me and I knew the paper collection I would use.

I was lucky enough to win the challenge over on the Dusty Attic Blog earlier this year and I chose amongst other things this wonderful 12x12 Hearts chipboard so I cut apart a few sections and gesso'd them up and inked using distress inks.

Here you can see where I have placed them. I took the photo and matted it on to 2 papers and tucked foam under to stabilise it. I also added some vintage lace to the bottom.

The Beautiful is a laser cut from Avesta by 49andmarket and I placed a pearl under the B for stability also if you catch sight of a side view you wouldn't see layers of foam or chipboard.

This is the flower cluster I have added right on top of the paper where the flowers live you can see I have added a twine bow, puffy hearts and pearls.

A closer look at the mats which have been inked and distressed, I also added more Rub-on butterflies and lots of Nuvo Drops.

Another look at the flower cluster.

And yes another look where you can see more pearls.

Thank You for stopping by today. I hope you like what you have seen and maybe you will try something similar with a beautiful photograph. Janine has lots of beautiful papers and collections to choose from over at The Mad Scrapper  unless you are lucky enough to drop in. Just tell her Sue sent you!

Here is the supply list:

Pearls, lace and Nuvo drops from my stash.

Dear Friend Birthday Card.

Hello,
Here I am today sharing a birthday card I recently made for a lady to give her dear friend who will be turning 60! I also know this lady and I am aware she loves flowers on her cards, so I have chosen papers, ephemera and paper flowers from 49andmarket all available from The Mad Scrapper  I have also added items from my stash.

The card is a 5x8 inch bright white card blank and to that I have added Boysenberry and then a piece of Viken-Slendid paper but not before stitching in deep purple floss and distressing all edges. I then took another narrower strip stitched along one edge only and added deep white lace so it hung over the right edge adding it to the card with foam for dimension.

Then I took the laser cuts and started adding them around the panel so I could build upon it with the paper flowers etc. The big turquoise flower is an old Prima one and because of the gold I added the leaves with gold on which I thought was a nice touch.

I printed out the sentiment and added enamel sparkly dots around along with a few Prima pearls. I also removed the brown stamens and added my own lilac ones. A couple butterflies dotted about and the card is finished.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you to use your scrapbook papers for luscious card making too. Janine has loads of beautiful papers to drool over and you are sure to find something to suit your occasion.

Choose Happy

 Hello,

Today I'm here to share another project made for The Mad Scrapper Blog and I am using the new paper collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio (full detail below) it's a lovely bright set of papers and embellishments as well as cut apart papers.

One of my favourite things is to stitch on my layouts and cards and when I saw this sheet I knew exactly what I was going to do! I took a corresponding thread and stitched on the top edge of each of the colours. I then distressed the edges.

I then used 2 of the journaling cards and after distressing them I added them to the page.

The photo has been trimmed so I added a white boarder and then 2 other mats with distressed edges. It was then added to the layout using foam pads for dimension.

Then I went in to the kit and chose some embellishments to add some of which I fussy cut out such as these butterflies

This Awesome is just one word cut from a sheet of text and the Happy Days is cut from the manufacturers strip.

I grabbed a few bits from a stash collection for Disney and made a small cluster above the journal card to which I have added text showing the date and place. All about the layout I have added the adorable puffy heart stickers.

I also made up a small cluster for the top left all from the papers.

Thanks for stopping by again today. This is such a happy collection and I hope you'll check it out in store or online at The Mad Scrapper

Hello Sunshine.

 Hello,

Here I am again sharing another layout made using the fun collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studios for The Mad Scrapper Blog full details available below.

I started by taking the Juicy Fruit paper and adding the sunray along the centre line using distress ink and then I added dots in blue and the hash in pink which I felt pulled in the outside edges.

Then using a lovely rainbow ribbon from my stash I added it to the centre line. My photo has been trimmed down so I added it to white cardstock first before matting it on to 2 papers from the collection. I have made sure the horizon is on the ribbon edge and the photo is raised on foam for dimension.

Once the photo is in place it just left me to find embellishments to add to the page. I cut apart the journaling page which gives plenty choice. I have also used a few bits from 49andmarket beached ephemera pack.

I used one card for my journaling but cut it into a circle and distressed the edges. I added some puffy hearts from the collection and sequins and moleys  from my stash.

A closer look  at this little cluster

I fussy cut a few butterflies and added one here.

This last photo gives a closer look at the photo I have used of me and my son who will be 30 this year!

Thank you for stopping by again today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing how this layout came together and don't forget to call in and see Janine or go online to The Mad Scrapper  to find lots of other wonderful collections.
