Challenge 162 Country Strong

It's time for another challenge over at and this time it is design team sister Peachy's turn. August 2-8 in the USA it is national Farmers Week so to celebrate this she has asked us all to come up with a country theme project.
I have chosen to make the 8x8 Birthday card for my Dad and when he has finished with it it will go in to a deep frame to hang on the wall in either their or my home.

I used a sheet of doily paper on the base then matted on to a gingham sheet two different papers which I attached a ribbon across the join.
The cockerel is cut from a sheet of Graphic 45 paper which I distressed the edges and inked. Then I cut out 12 sunflowers and layered them up around the image using different heights. The Bonne sentiment is cut out of another sheet. I still have plenty of images left and more sunflowers.

Now its your turn to join in make something with a country feel.

  1. Sue, this is just wonderful! I love, love, love those sunflowers with the rooster! Beautiful card!

  2. Sue, this is amazing! So full of details! I love the rustic and vintage feel of your card. Love the papers and how every detail just blends into each other.

  3. Beautiful! Love the rooster, sunflowers and all those gorgeous papers! Great job!
