Today I'm sharing a layout I've made for The Mad Scrapper Blog . I have made deep dive in to my stash of beautiful 49 and market papers and flowers for this page of my sisters family on a recent visit to the National Trust Gibside Park.

 

I've used vintage artistry - Virtue paper and added natural collage stack under the photo which is mounted on to 2 4x6 file frames. Can you just make out that I have cut into the paper partially around the main leaves and lifted them with foam pads. I also cut the paper down to 11.5 and inked the edges before adding it to a sheet of black cardstock.

This next image shows how I tucked the photo under the lifted leaf. I took the Dusty Attic 12x12 heart and snipped 2 sections to place top left and bottom right corners but not before I inked them with the same distress ink as I used on the paper edges. I also added a tiny blue crochet doily and a metal button from my stash along with flowers and leaves from 49 and a button saying Simple Life.

I started to add a few rub-ons around the layout from Art Options Spice collection.

My sister is a Autumn girl so I couldn't resist adding this Rub-on as it seemed made for her.

Margarita Time

 Hello,

Today I am sharing this layout of myself and cousin enjoying a Margarita on her front porch after a hard day of memory making.  I made it to also share over at The Mad Scrapper Blog where you can pick up your supply's for almost any style of layout. This paper is from 49 and Market a list is below. 

This is a window sticker which I have had since our first family holiday to Florida in 2008, we went to Universal Studios not Disney as my son was in to (still is) Jaw's and Terminator movies and when you arrive you go along the walkways which have many cafe's and bars and we stopped off at this one called Margaritaville and I picked up this sticker. I couldn't bring myself to stick it to a window so it has sat waiting for the right time to be used! I attached it to a piece of acetate and then a scrap of zesty green which allowed me to stick it down to the paper, I did trim around the image.

This next photo shows us sipping our drinks from mason glasses, we were watching the children playing out front. The flowers are from the Pinkfresh Studio stamp, stencil and die set this time I coloured with coral through to orange on cream cardstock. The title is another stash buster gifted from a friend.

I trimmed the main paper down to 11inch and added it to a Simple Stories paper which I thought went well. The photo is on 3 mats the first a scrap of 49andmarket and then 2 from Bazzill on a jaunty angle and lifted on foam pads. The snippets on top and bottom of the photo are also 49andmarket but older collections.

I think it all works well together on this fun layout.

Here on this last photo you can see I have added purple gems all around the layout also I have added white splashes to bring out the ones within the paper.

Wildflower

 Hello,

Today I am up on  The Mad Scrapper Blog with this fun layout of myself on my recent holiday checking out this wonderful clothing store in downtown Sumner. My goodness I could have bought this Stetson along with numerous other items of clothing and boots!

I have used papers from 49 and Market along with touches of Simple Stories, ephemera is a mix of Dusty Attic, Green Tara and my collection of memorabilia a full list can be found below.

Here you can see I have used 2 papers tearing and the brown at an angle showing the white core which I ink before adding it on top of the lighter card. As you can see I have stitched a full row and two shorter ones to the edge. Over on the left I added a half inch strip from Wildflower collection because in the brown paper there are touches of blue. I inked and distressed all the edges.

I have had this Teresa Collin's Journal Tag since 2008 and thought it fitted in nicely after I inked it and matted it on to the same blue as the left edge.

The used vintage artistry essential frames under the photo and placed it on a foam sheet for dimension, you could also use cardboard packaging like Janine shared a short while ago. I had some vintage rubons left over so I tucked them around the photo top.

Bottom left cluster is a mix of a dress form, flowers, stickers and stash busting stuff

In this photo of the right bottom cluster you can see I have added a leather tag, flowers, a sticker, brass pen nib and Dusty Attic feather pins. The sentiment is cut from a journal card from Simple Stories. I have also added pearls and gems around the page.

I just love how this layout came out, as you can see in the photo we were having such a great time.

Happy 50th

Today I'm sharing a pretty birthday card over on The Mad Scrapper Blog using the recently added Maja Design Mum's Garden collection.

I start by choosing the papers that I may use and as you can see I have picked 2 plain and 3 patterned papers, all of which are double sided. If you have never tried Maja Design papers I would urge you to give them a try because they are beautiful and they are thick.

 

I start by making a 7x7 white card blank and then I add my first paper with the hearts distressing the edges first. Then using a fancy deckle edge nesting die set I cut a darker green and topped with the floral paper. I added foam underneath for dimension. Apologies for these last 2 photos it was so sunny they just came through a little dark.

I missed the next 2 sizes of dies and cut another green and topped with the heart paper. Then I added the sentiments on top. I knew I wanted to use some glitter and thought the 50 had to be done in it. I used a bright pink to cut the fan leaf and green and glitter for the sprigs. I tucked them under sentiment mat.

I have used flowers from Green Tara and pearl stamens to make a cluster at the top left. I also added a tiny flower by the daughter flag.

You can see the layering here in this photo. Sometimes I use foam other times just a piece of light card from a cereal packet. I also used some Nuvo drops around the layout.

Pinkfresh Studio Card

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing a card I have made using this beautiful set of stamps, stencils and dies from Pinkfresh Studio which Janine is now stocking at The Mad Scrapper  . There are a few different sets available in store/online. I will admit I passed them by when they first came in but boy did I make a mistake because they really are wonderful. This is the card I made for The Mad Scrapper Blog and a full list of products is below.

This is the set I used it is called Be Fearless from their latest release and Janine is carrying others so do check them out. If you are going online do put in the full Pinkfresh Studios into the search bar. As you can see I have the stamp, stencil and die all come individually and they are perfect for both cardmaking and scrapbooking.

The stamp is in one piece so all is stamped at one time, the stencil works the same way and it has 5 pieces allowing you to get great shading. Below you can see my first try. I started by lightly stamping the image then I coloured in using the stencil and then I restamped the image straight over the top to give a much crisper finish.

These are the colours I used and can be found in store.

I made a 8x6 card blank, then I created a mat using marshmallow and a stencil inking through with 2 of the colours above. Then I took a Spellbinders die (which I've had for years!) using the marshmallow I cut a frame and another out of candy floss to go under. A stitched oval was placed in the centre then I attached it all to the card with foam under for definition.

Here you can see how I have used all the flowers to make clusters around the right side of the frame. To finish off I added 3 colours of pearls and a sentiment from my stash.

Just look how pretty they are after you have coloured and cut them out.

I did try another colourway and made another little card and look how many I still have left. I stamped the image twice both times because you can always keep them ready for another time. The stamp set comes with 2 large sentiments which have dies and another 3 which do not.

3 Amigo's

Today it's my turn to share over at The Mad Scrapper Blog and I'm sharing this fun layout of my 2 crafty cousins Karen and Alyson on a great day out in Seattle recently. Whilst I was there we went to lots of places together and I called us the 3 Amigos. We always started our day with a photo and made sure to capture lots more memories 

I started by taking Whatever Solid- paper 3 and a sheet of navy I cut the green down to 11 1/2 and offset it on the blue. A full list of all I've used is at the bottom of this page. I decided to use a sketch for this layout just so each holiday page wasn't looking the same. Below is the sketch and as you can see I have flipped it so I can add my photos top to bottom.

The first thing I did was to select the papers for my banners I included the 1/2 inch strips from the green but using the opposite side showing the darker green. Then I gutted the centre out of Solid-paper 2 along with some navy, cream and turquoise. Because some of my strips were not long enough I have a gap in the middle. I layed them out and chose which ones I wanted to stitch through doing so I then stuck them down.

 I adhered my 3 photos to a piece of black and added foam underneath for dimension, I also pulled out some laser cut lace pieces from previous collections and tucked one along each edge just to soften it.

I pretty much followed the sketch by adding 2 clusters and a area for journaling. I also added some rub-ons about the page to fill any gaps. I have used 49andmarket and Green Tara flowers.

I typed my journaling and added it to some black making a banner edge. I have also used some Serenity chipboards about the page too.

A closer look shows extra pearls, a open leaf and puffy hearts.

The 3 Amigo's I typed and added it under the luggage label. The little cameras I'm in love with and the little family label I have had as long as I've been scrapbooking which is coming up to 28 years soon.

Scrapbooking Show.

 Hello there,

Today you find me over on  The Mad Scrapper Blog with another layout from my holiday in the USA.

This layout shows us at the scrapbooking show held in the area I was staying at Puyallup. I have used papers available from Janine along with snippets of the show guide and cool phrases off a sheet of paper I bought there (you will see them popping up in any more layouts I share!) a full list can be found below.

I have kept this half sheet of Kaisercraft Crafternoon paper for some years and I just new I wanted to use it here, I pulled the pale green to use as my boarder but not before I gutted out a portion from the left to use as mats. I also used a half sheet of Summer Porch take flight paper to which I added distress ink through the tapestry stencil as I thought it looked a little like the pattern on my top. I also added the merchandise strip off Plum Grove - blossom with added stitching on it to hide the gaps where the papers were joined.

This photo shows us arriving at the show all excited to get in we were ten minutes after the doors opened!  This is Karen and myself looking all fresh. You can see I've added a skinny strip of the merchandising strip off take flight because it was in red, white and blue.

I printed my journaling to make sure I could get plenty down.

This is Alyson and myself at the end, we'd been there for 7 hours! I think if someone could they'd have come back again tomorrow (Karen). Our bags were full of some excellent goodies 

Here is my stash, they wouldn't take photo's of theirs because it was twice the size of mine lol. The phrase is off the merchandise strip off the crafternoon paper I thought it was quite apt. Lots of vendors gave away badges to keep or fridge magnets one even gave away a decent tote bag.

Once we got back to Alyson's we opened a bottle of wine along with chips n dips and sat in the sun. Then it was time to go in and check out or stashes. Such a wonderful day I just had to preserve it on a layout.
