Birthday Wishes

 Hi,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I have made to join in with February challenge over at Pinkfresh Studio. The challenge this time around is Transparent Treasures and I have chosen to place vellum under the frame to soften the green for the flowers to lay on.

I have used a pearlescent soft green cardbase and added the green paper in a elongated diamond shape but first I added a tiny white boarder. I then used the Twist Pattern die with white Bazzill card tucking it under a same coloured oval frame. Then I cut out the vellum and adhered it underneath placing it in the centre of the card.

I stamped out two sets of Citrus Bloom and coloured them in using the stencils and a selection of Pinkfresh inks. I decided to reink the image afterwards to show the artists lines. Using the dies I cut them out with one pass each and then I added a further layer to give stability.
I then arranged them around the frame in a pleasing way and attached some with glue and others a foam pad under.
As I am new to collecting Pinkfresh I didn't have a Happy Birthday sentiment so I chose one of my own. I also added Nuvo Drops to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sue.

My Anchor

 Hello,

Today I am sharing this layout with you made for The Mad Scrapper Blog using a photograph taken last year in Aberystwyth.

I am using lovely new in to the store papers from Maja Designs along with flowers and ephemera from the store too. I started by trimming down The Bay page to 11 by tearing it and laying on top of the gutted Summer Porch solid #1 paper. A full list can be found below.

I took my photo and matted it 3 times and lifted it using foam strips to enable me to tuck ephemera underneath. I used 2 journal cards first then I set about using flowers to make my cluster. I added chipboard elements along with extra blue leaves, a cork star and a couple of resin stars.

Maja Designs always have useful sentiments on their manufacturing strips and this was perfect as we are for each other!

A little glimpse of my journaling, I feel it is important to add this and even better if hand written. That little strip of waves is the back side of this cream paper

I couldn't resist sharing another shot of the flower cluster, you can see I have added some flat back sequins here and there to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by today, as I type this it is freezing outside so what better reason to crack out your stash and keep warm by making a layout or two. You know where to go if you need supplies either pop in to the store or head over to The Mad Scrapper  Janine will be pleased to help you pick.

Happy Birthday!

 Hello,

Today I am here to share a quick make for  The Mad Scrapper Blog all the supply's came from the store and you may have some or all in your stash but if not you know where to go. A list can be found below .

I knew I wanted to try a blended background so I grabbed my box and took out the inks I felt I needed.

I didn't use all on the background but they all were used in colouring the flowers. I stamped two lots of the Be Fearless set by PinkFresh Studios and coloured them in trying to make a blended coloured flower.

I felt I may need some extra leaves to I stamped and then inked using the same colours the Winter Berries set by PinkFresh. Although I didn't use them all I keep everything just incase they can bulk out another make.

I trimmed down the background to leave a small edge to a 6x8 white card blank I made with Bazzill card stock. Then using another white I cut out both frames from the PinkFresh Art Deco Frames attaching the smaller flat but adding the skinny foam strips to the larger one in the centre if you can see the 3 decorative parts of the frame are loose only attached in a few places. Then I lay my flowers and a couple of the berry branches both above and below the frame.

I added my own stamped Happy Birthday sentiment because this set does not have one and let it hang over the frame.

To finish off I added a few gems around the layout and added a verse inside and we are done.
Thanks for stopping by again today, I hope I have inspired you today to get a little inky and make a pretty card. As always call in to see Janine in the store or grab a cuppa and browse The Mad Scrapper  online store.

New Year's Eve 1999

 Hello,

Today I am up over at  The Mad Scrapper Blog with this layout capturing memories from New Year's Eve 1999. We were at my sisters house with my parents who are in the photo's.

I have chosen this paper because I thought it looked a little tartan and I didn't want anything overly festive. A full list can be found at the bottom of the page.
I started by trimming the paper down, distressing the edges and then I decided to stitch using black floss and deep red metallic thread, then I mounted on to black swiss dot paper. I then decided to add some rub-ons from Prima which you can add foil, floss, glitter to I decided to add gold flake. Then I took the heart chipboard from Dusty Attic painting it with gold acrylic paint first. You can tell I had already decided where my photos were going.

I matted my photos on to some red then swiss dot paper and added them on top of the hearts slipping some spare bits of chipboard underneath for stability then I gathered flowers in similar colours to cluster around the photos.

I also added some rub-ons to the page as well as black and gold Nuvo drops.

The stamped sentiments are from a set from my stash, I also added some firework images because there were so many going off that night it would be rude not to!

You can just see here one of the Christmas rub-ons I used.

I had to add the 2000 flag and thankfully I had a nice number set to use.  My Mum and Dad have both passed away now but I still love to use them on layouts. My dad would never be out without a tie and they would both dress up for a party.

Thanks for stopping by for one last time this year. Take plenty photos and get them printed out so you can make lovely layouts too. Janine is sure to have a paper collection to match your event so pop in or go to The Mad Scrapper  and browse from your armchair.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Merry and Bright

 Hello,

Today I am up on The Mad Scrapper Blog with my December calendar page using beautiful papers and embellishments from Uniquely Creative.

I chose to use 2 sheets from the collection today along with some of the Creative Cuts they will work great on both layouts as well as cards (watch this space). I did add a few of my own stash to complement the components. I started by tearing the Santa's Workshop paper retaining the right hand side, I added it to the B side of the Holly Bouquet and saved the part you can not see.

I matted my photo on to kraft card and lifted it with foam pads placing it down over on the right of the page. I added my ephemera around the photo before I stuck it down, I always take a photo so I can see where it will go because when I move it to glue I never seem to remember where it went. The photo above is it.
This next photo shows it all stuck down. I am not a fan of too much white around the cuts so I trimmed some off, I lifted the top edges of most larger items with extra card so not too high didn't want the hight of foam pads here.

This next photo shows where I have added the retained piece of the Santa's workshop page after I fussy cut around the elements you can see they have been lifted also. I had to include the red cardinal and the postage stamp.

As there are trees in the picture I am using I cut some from white card and white glitter card and placed them along the bottom of the page lifting them as I go I also inked the edges of the white ones. I added ephemera around them too.

This next photo shows one of the sentiments which again I have trimmed around and this time I added it to some red for a mat.

To finish the layout I added sprigs cut from the kraft card and the red which have been used for mats. I also added some black gems and tiny snowflakes. Thanks for stopping by today, checkout the other papers in the collection at The Mad Scrapper  if you can't get in to the shop.

Christmas Gift Bag

 Hello,

A quick share today on The Mad Scrapper Blog with this Christmas Gift Bag. I've used the Pink fresh Studio Winter Berries stamp, stencil and die set.

I took a craft gift bag 5x7 size and on to the front I added a embossed champagne coloured satin paper but first I added some inch wide ribbon with the help of my glue gun allowing me to make ruffles. I took another die from Pink Fresh to give that wavy background, I cut it twice for strength and for dimensions I added a bottle green one slightly off set.

This time I stamped on to cream cardstock and used 2 green inks for the leaves but for the berries I went with purple, orange, mustard and red. I stamped and diecut the sentiment from the set.

I decided to make a couple of flowers to go with my paper flowers from 49 and market. I tucked in a couple of tiny wooden trees which I had glittered and dotted some coordinating gems.

Thanks for stopping by today I hope I've inspired you to make a few gift bags for the upcoming holiday season. Stop in to see what goodies Janine has you can use on your own bags if not go over to The Mad Scrapper

Pinkfresh Winter Berries

 Hello,

Today I am sharing a cute Christmas card I have made for the The Mad Scrapper Blog using the Pinkfresh Winter Berries stamp, stencil and die set.

I started by stamping out the stamp set twice and then using the stencils I decided to use bright non traditional colours as I was inspired by Rachel Designs from the Pinkfresh design team.

The die is one complete die which cuts out in one pass which is wonderful and time saving. I took a white card blank in 5x7 and on to that I added a pale blue matt which I ran through a embossing folder. Then I took a white smooth paper and added a light grey ink through a stencil cutting it in a scooped bottom and placing it on the card.

I also cut out some leaves using white glitter card, you can just make out the stencil in this photo

The stamp set has 3 sentiments included and a die which cuts out one but I chose to use the long one and cut it out myself. To finish off I added blue gems and a little bow at the top.

I had these 3 pieces left over so I made a little coordinating tag. The Merry Christmas is another of the 3 sentiments.

Thanks for stopping in again today. Don't forget to checkout other Pinkfresh items Janine is stocking by going to The Mad Scrapper  there is so much new stuff arriving daily.
