Rat Pack Fun

 Hello again,

Today I am sharing another layout made for The Mad Scrapper Blog and it's a happy memory from my holiday last year to family in Washington State. We visited Seattle and on the boardwalk there is an indoor amusement stop and we found this wooden carving of the famous Rat Pack so we had to join in.

I started by choosing my paper and embellishments (a full list is below) I knew I wanted an aged look to this page so I pulled out the Academia Collection. I trimmed the page down to 11inch distressed the edges then added the green to the 2 sides and as you can see 1 is wider than the other.

I grabbed the last few pieces of Dusty Attic Geometric panel and inked with Walnut Stain and placed under the photos. I used the acetate leaves which include butterflies so I placed one big one on top of one corner. I tucked a little luggage label with the date in there too.

Here you can see the larger of the clusters, I have used 4 different flower collections along with more leaves. Everything is attached with hot glue. I did touch the edges of the flowers with ink too.

Here is the other smaller cluster, there is another piece of the chipboard under there but can't be seen in this photo.

I used a chipboard piece to write on and tuck under the photo. I was going to use a strip off another paper which had this sentiment on but unfortunately it was the wrong colour.

To finish off I added a few puffy heart stickers and some glue dots in old gold.

Thanks for stopping by again, I hope I have inspired you today. If you need supplies pop in to see Janine in store or grab a cuppa and check out what's available at  The Mad Scrapper

Birthday Wishes

 Hi,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I have made to join in with February challenge over at Pinkfresh Studio. The challenge this time around is Transparent Treasures and I have chosen to place vellum under the frame to soften the green for the flowers to lay on.

I have used a pearlescent soft green cardbase and added the green paper in a elongated diamond shape but first I added a tiny white boarder. I then used the Twist Pattern die with white Bazzill card tucking it under a same coloured oval frame. Then I cut out the vellum and adhered it underneath placing it in the centre of the card.

I stamped out two sets of Citrus Bloom and coloured them in using the stencils and a selection of Pinkfresh inks. I decided to reink the image afterwards to show the artists lines. Using the dies I cut them out with one pass each and then I added a further layer to give stability.
I then arranged them around the frame in a pleasing way and attached some with glue and others a foam pad under.
As I am new to collecting Pinkfresh I didn't have a Happy Birthday sentiment so I chose one of my own. I also added Nuvo Drops to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sue.

My Anchor

 Hello,

Today I am sharing this layout with you made for The Mad Scrapper Blog using a photograph taken last year in Aberystwyth.

I am using lovely new in to the store papers from Maja Designs along with flowers and ephemera from the store too. I started by trimming down The Bay page to 11 by tearing it and laying on top of the gutted Summer Porch solid #1 paper. A full list can be found below.

I took my photo and matted it 3 times and lifted it using foam strips to enable me to tuck ephemera underneath. I used 2 journal cards first then I set about using flowers to make my cluster. I added chipboard elements along with extra blue leaves, a cork star and a couple of resin stars.

Maja Designs always have useful sentiments on their manufacturing strips and this was perfect as we are for each other!

A little glimpse of my journaling, I feel it is important to add this and even better if hand written. That little strip of waves is the back side of this cream paper

I couldn't resist sharing another shot of the flower cluster, you can see I have added some flat back sequins here and there to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by today, as I type this it is freezing outside so what better reason to crack out your stash and keep warm by making a layout or two. You know where to go if you need supplies either pop in to the store or head over to The Mad Scrapper  Janine will be pleased to help you pick.
