Perfect Day.

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing another layout for The Mad Scrapper Blog and this time it is of my sister and her hubby on a recent visit to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in Rome. On this particular day they visited the Trevi Fountain and were able to get this lovely photo of themselves.

As it was such a sunny day I knew exactly which paper collection I would choose, yes Happy Days by Cooca Vannila. There is a full list at the bottom.

I started by taking a white Bazzilli card and adding a blue/sea looking paper at the halfway point. I took the rays stencil and inked through to the left of the centre line, then I made up my mats to go under the photo from pieces of the collection.

Then I added the heart strip across the join and added the photo to its spot. I added some funky foam under to allow me some clearance for tucking things underneath. I had sat and fussy cut a sheet of the flowers out as well as the fruit when I first received the collection so I had those ready to go. Some I added a piece of card behind for dimensions. I put the flowers down then added the little sentiment strip from one of the cut apart sheets. I also decided to trim the page down so I could add a nice bright boarder to it.

The right side I added a couple of lemons (well I thought I would!) along with some ephemera from 49andmarket. The top right flag banner was added because I felt that corner needed a little something and I topped it with the phrase.

This next photo shares a closer look at the bottom right little cluster I made up with more flowers from the kit as well as more 49 ephemera. I did a little bit of journaling but made it read like Jayne had written it.

This last photo shows the couple of banners added along with the Paradise sentiment. I found a little camera to add to the page which I added after I had splatted some distress ink around the page. To finish off I added some of the last few puffy stickers I have left.

Thanks for stopping by again today. Hopefully I have inspired you to use a holiday snap you have somewhere on your phone or in the draw.
For your supplies you can pop in to the bricks and mortar shop or do what I do and go online at  The Mad Scrapper  Janine has lots and lots to tempt you.

Joys of December

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing a project I have made for The Mad Scrapper Blog and I will be gifting it to my sister who is the manager of her Community Centre in Westmoor, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She loves Christmas and most of all putting together the events calendar to run up to the BIG day! She has a journal to take her through the days with every last thing documented.

I have started by taking one of those thin MDF stars available in stores and painted the edges cream and then drawn around it on my chosen Christmas themed paper. A list of products used is at the bottom of this page. I used 2 coordinating distress inks through the Dusty Attic stencil which I randomly placed around the star.

Then I decided to stitch around the edge for texture and add lots of rub-ons around but not where I knew my frame would be. I used just basic wet glue to adhere the paper to the MDF.

Once it dried overnight I gathered together what I knew I wanted to be my main focal point and started to add them to the star using foam and cardboard behind to give dimensions and to allow me to tuck things under the edges.

One of the things that happens every year is a letterbox arrives in reception for the children to post their letters to Santa and as long as they put in an address they will receive a hand written reply. So when I found this perspextive letterbox in my stash I knew it had to go on.

Most of the other goodies on here are from the ephemera pack and flowers by 49andmarket with some additional bits from my stash. These include the snowballs, glitter stars and the ribbon rose. I wanted to have an extended strip from the frame across to the other side so I added a small piece of the red frame which I had saved from last year which allowed me to stretch out my cluster.

I tucked a ticket with the holly jolly sentiment at the top which gave me something coming out from each side of the frame. I also touched the edges of the frame with glitter glue for sparkle.

The last thing I added was the boots sticking out from under the bottom with a touch of glitter to the soles. I haven't yet but will add some string or ribbon to the top to allow it to hang.

I hope you have enjoyed this project and it may inspire you to do something similar for your home or office. Janine has lots of Christmas collections coming in to store along with some already available so why not pop in if you live close or as I do go online at The Mad Scrapper  .
